RENOMIA Assists with Flood Claims in Central
and Eastern Europe

20. September 2024

As the weather forecast's grim predictions came to fruition and the threat of floods became all too real, RENOMIA's consultants and claims settlement specialists have been working tirelessly with our clients to mitigate risks as efficiently as possible. As soon as it's safe and feasible, given the flood situation, we're on-site to assist with claims settlement.

Over the past few days, several countries in Central Europe have been battered by floods, inundations, and storms. River levels began to swell on Friday, particularly in the Czech Republic. Come the weekend, the flooding had spread its tendrils into Slovakia and Poland, as well as Austria, Hungary, and Romania.

"Our hearts go out to all those affected by these devastating floods" says Klara Kodua, Director of International Operations at RENOMIA GROUP. "From the outset, we've been there for our clients in the affected countries, working alongside them to settle claims and, where possible, lending a hand on the ground. Across all our country offices, we're pooling our expertise, sharing know how and resources, drawing on both current experiences and extensive historical knowledge from handling claims following other major natural disasters in the region. Our primary aim is to provide the best possible support and assistance in settling these claims."

As floodwaters begin to recede in the affected areas, the claim settlement process is in full swing. RENOMIA GROUP has already registered claims worth more than €50 million in the region. Gallagher RE estimates that the total property claims related to the current floods could reach between two and three billion euros for the entire affected Central European region.
